VAGON TRANS LOGISTIC Ltd. is a certified private owned company established in 2015 with the main subject of activity – purchase-sale and execution of all kinds of repairs of freight wagons and spare parts related to the railway transport. The company holds a Certificate of Conformity for maintenance functions, confirming the acceptance of a maintenance system within the European Union, in accordance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/798 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779. The certificate was issued by the Executive Agency “Railway Administration” in Bulgaria. The company also has an implemented Quality Management System, according to ISO 9001:2015 audited and registered by Intertek Certification Limited.
VAGON TRANS LOGISTIC Ltd. performs its administrative activities from its headquarters, located in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. The wagon repair workshops, where the company carries out its main activity, are located in Targovishte, Ruse and Pleven, Bulgaria.
The wagon repair workshop in Targovishte has been operating at full capacity since 2017, and since then, more than 1,000 wagons of various types have been repaired and recycled. The base in Targovishte has about 1,700 square meters of indoor hall equipped with 1 pc. overhead crane with a load capacity of up to 25 tons and one track. It also has an open space for parking up to 100 pieces of wagons, distributed on 4 tracks.
In 2023, VAGON TRANS LOGISTIC Ltd. equipped, renovated and put into operation a wagon repair workshop in the city of Ruse, which increased the production capacity of the company from 150 to over 250 pieces of repaired and recycled wagons per year. The total area of the new production base is over 5,000 sq. m., as the covered repair workshop has an area of 2,900 sq. m. and is equipped with 2 pcs. bridge cranes with load capacity of up to 20 tons, 5 pcs. of small cranes of up to 2 tons and 4 sets (16 pcs) of screw jacks for locomotives, each with a load capacity of up to 25 tons. The production base has newly built tracks and a railway crossing, connected to the national railway network of Bulgaria as well as built separated premises covering all standards for carrying out the individual repair works on the wagons. The wagon repair workshop is equipped with all the necessary stands and machines needed for major (capital) repairs. The company also has 2 pcs. of truck cranes with a load capacity of up to 35 and 60 tons.
VAGON TRANS LOGISTIC Ltd. has its own, modernized and digitalized bandage lathe “RAFAMET” for reprofiling of wheelsets along the rolling circle. The lathe is installed in the city of Pleven, and after reprofiling, the wheels go through ultrasonic defectoscopy performed by experienced specialists. The company has high class machines for ultrasonic non-destructive and last generation of measuring devices for wheelsets.
The company’s activity is divided into three areas:
- The first and main direction is the sale of freight wagons after medium and major repairs, as well as various types of modernizations carried out at the company’s own production sites. All types of repair works are performed by a team of experienced and qualified specialists, which guarantees the quality of the production.
- The second direction is the purchase and resale of wagons in the condition in which they are or, at the customer’s request, they can be repaired at the company’s subcontractors in various countries of the European Union, Serbia and Macedonia. Currently, in this direction, VAGON TRANS LOGISTIC Ltd. has realized over 750 pcs. of wagons.
- The third direction is execution of scheduled and emergency repairs of freight wagons.
- The fourth direction is the sale of new and repaired spare parts for railway rolling stock.
